Attention City of Monroe Water System Customers,
Monroe City Ordinance numbers 11,837 and 11,838 were enacted on March 27, 2018, to increase water/sewer rates according to the annual Consumer Price Index (CPI). The new rates are effective for May 1 usage and will be reflected in the June water bill. Please see chart below for water minimum usage and cost based on meter size. The current sewer rate will increase from $4.20 per one thousand gallons to $4.34 per one thousand gallons. The current water rate will increase from $4.66 per one thousand gallons to $4.82 per one thousand gallons. This annual increase is based on the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics Schedule of Release for April 2024.
